Magee Secondary SchoolMagee Secondary is well known in Vancouver for its long tradition of excellence in Academics, Athletics and the Arts. looking for more: Intended for current grade 7 students living in
Magee’s catchment area or attending one of Magee’s feeder
elementary schools.
Important Dates: Friday, January 12, 2007 Friday, February 23, 2007 Program StructureDuring Grades 8 and 9, the Magee Leaders are grouped together for enriched courses in Social Studies, English, Drama and Physical Education. Their learning program will promote leadership through integrated, thematic units.
The program will feature a leadership retreat, thematic field trip and “challenge days” throughout the year. These days will allow students and staff to engage in creative problem solving, team building and leadership activities. Transportation, special events and other related program cost is $250.*
*Vancouver School Board policy states that no student shall
be denied entry to a program for financial reasons. If this sounds like you, complete the application form, attach a recent photo of yourself to it, attach a photocopy of your Grade 6 final and Grade 7 Term I Report Cards, and return the package to “Magee Leaders Program” at: Magee Secondary School: Applications must be mailed or hand-delivered to the school by Friday, January 12, 2007. Next, plan to attend the group interview session on Friday, February 23, 2007. There will be opportunities to interact with other grade 7 applicants and get to know the teacher involved in the Magee Leaders Program. In preparation for the interview session, please
research a leader who interests you. Be prepared to share this information
