Upcoming Concerts

Friday May 24, 7 pm, Magee Theatre - Combined concert with Lake Washington H.S. bands and choirs.

Senior Jazz Band plays the Cellar!
Sunday May 26, 7 pm, Cellar Jazz Club - Magee Sr. Jazz Band performance ($5.00 cover charge with a $10.00 food minimum purchase).  There will be 3 special guest musicians performing with the band:  Saul Berson on alto sax, John Korsrud on trumpet, and Brian Harding on trombone. The doors open at 6:30 pm and the band will play 2 sets: 8-9, and 9:30-10:30.  Reservations are recommended - call: 604-738-1959

Tuesday May 28, 7 pm, Magee Theatre - Jr. Spring Concert - Band 8, Band 9, Jr. Jazz, Choirs
Thursday May 30, 7 pm, Magee Theatre - Sr. Spring Concert - Symphonic Band, String Orchestra, Sr. Jazz Band, Chamber Choir, Wind Ensemble, Grad Choir.  Tickets for the Spring Concerts at $5.00 and are available from any music student or by calling the school office (604-713-8200).

Spain Tour

Congratulation to all the students, parents, teachers, administration, and Ellison Tours for all your efforts to create a memorable experience for our students on their Spanish Tour - March 13 - 23.  The 11- day trip included tours and performances in: Barcelona, Valencia, Granada, Seville, Cordoba and Madrid.  The music teachers are very proud of the way the Magee students represented not only our school, but also Vancouver and Canada.  The tour received some excellent press on a Spanish/English website here.  One of the parents maintained a tour blog, which can be found here.  Now that we are back at school we can begin to play for our next tour in 2015.

  If you have a senior dress, junior skirt or vest you would like to sell, please contact May in the school office (604) 713-8200 to find out how the Music Society will buy back your old uniform.

 

Equipment for Senior Band Classes

A reminder to all students entering Symphonic Band to make sure to upgrade your mouthpiece and ligature over the summer.  All senior band students should also make sure to have a tuner and metronome for class and home practice.  Check the equipment page for more details.
