CURRENT NEWS AND EVENTS:

Magee Market Fair - Friday February 10

The Magee Market Fair will take place on Friday February 10, 2012 from 5:30 - 9:30 pm.  This annual fundraising extravaganza hosted by the Magee Music Society will take place in the Magee atrium, the small and large gyms, and the rotunda.  There will be music by the Magee jazz bands, lots of different types of food, vendors selling wonderful products, a silent auction, a bake sale, a used book sale, student performers, and games for kids of all ages.  Tickets are only $2.00 in advance and can be purchased at the school or from any Magee music student.  Each music student is required to sell 5 tickets.  See you there!!

Bramwell Tovey visits Magee

On November 24, VSO conductor Maestro Bramwell Tovey visited Magee to rehearse the wind ensemble on Rossini’s overture, An Italian in Algiers.  This was an exciting morning for our students.  Maestro Tovey’s wonderful sense of humour, knowledge of the music and caring attention to detail inspired the wind ensemble to bring the music to life.  I have posted some photos and video at the photo gallery here.
