Magee Centennial Celebrations

Magee turns 100 years old this year and there will be many special celebrations.  There is a special website for the centennial which can be found
here.  On Friday May 23 there will be an evening event at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre called “We Are Magee” which will showcase past and current Magee talent.  Our own Wind Ensemble, Chamber Choir, Senior Jazz Band and String Orchestra will perform.  On Saturday May 24, Magee school will host an open house from 11 am - 3 pm that will feature the opportunity to explore the school, watch music, art and drama presentations, take part in alumni events (basketball game), take photos with friends and share memories.  In the evening of May 24, the Magee Senior Jazz Band, with special guest Magee grad of 1937, Dal Richards, will be hosting a closing night Centennial Cabaret from 7 - 9 pm.  In addition to the outstanding music, there will be food and beer supplied by our sponsor, Molson’s brewery.  Tickets are free for Magee Centennial Passport holders, $5.00 for regular attendees.  Since this is a licensed event, no one under 19 years of age will be permitted.
